Following the meetings in Florence and Prague, the series of international conferences dedicated to communication between Central and Western European courts through art, collecting, and material culture continues.
In collaboration with the Collecting Central Europe platform and The Medici Archive Project, we invite submissions for the conference Sacred Conversations: The Exchange of Objects between Monastic and Secular Courts in Early Modern Central and Eastern Europe, which will take place on May 7–8, 2027, in Ottobeuren, Bavaria. The conference will focus on the circulation of sacred objects, their diplomatic, religious, and cultural significance, and the role of monasteries and courts as centers for the exchange of knowledge and objects.
