Selection procedure for the position of Director of the Institute
The Council of the Institute of Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i., (ÚDU AV ČR, v. v. i.), announces a selection procedure for the position of Director of the Institute.
probity in accordance with § 17 para. 4 letters b) and c) of Act No. 341/2005 Coll., on Public Research Institutes, as currently amended,
university education and academic qualifications in one of the fields of the institute’s activities,
academic activity in one of the chief fields of the institute’s research activities,
organisational ability and managerial experience,
active knowledge of the English language, knowledge of other languages an advantage,
moral probity,
meet requirements in accordance with Act No. 451/1991 Coll., which lays down certain other preconditions for the performance of certain functions in state bodies and organisations of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic, the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, as currently amended (not applicable to applicants who are not citizens of the Czech Republic).
The Director of the Institute must not be a member of governing or controlling bodies of legal entities pursuing business activities and must not take part in the business activities of legal subjects operating in the area that is the object of activity of the Institute. The above-mentioned restriction does not apply to the administration of his/her own property (§ 17 para. 6 Act No. 341/2005 Coll.).
Anticipated term of service: 1.3.2022 – 28.2.2027
Applications, with enclosures, should be submitted in writing in Czech or in English.

a structured curriculum vitae,
proof of university education and academic qualifications,
overview of current practice,
list of chief academic papers and publications,
concept of the management of the Institute and its direction, including the future development of the Institute,
extract from the Criminal Register not older than 3 months1),
affidavit of probity in accordance with § 17 para. 4 letters c) of Act No. 341/2005 Coll.
The successful applicant shall provide fulfilment of the conditions in accordance with Act No. 451/1991 Coll. to the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences no later than the day he/she is appointed Director of the Institute.
Applications must be delivered in written form in a sealed envelope marked “Výběrové řízení” (“Selection procedure”) or by data box by 1.11. 2021 at the latest. In the case of applications sent through the post, the date on the postmark is decisive.
