Internal Reporting System

The Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences (hereafter referred to as “the Institute”), as an obliged entity under the provisions of Law 171/2023 on the Protection of Whistleblowers (hereafter referred to as “the Law”), shall operate an “Internal Reporting System” for the purpose of submitting and assessing reports as provided for by the Law.

Reports

Reports shall contain information about possible unlawful activity which:

- has the elements of a criminal offence, or

- is a misdemeanour for which the law provides for a fine of at least 100 000 CZK,

- or violates another legal regulation of the Czech Republic or EU legal act relating to the areas defined by the Law, provided that it took place or was going to take place at the Institute, and the person submitting the report (the “whistleblower”) became aware of it in connection with carrying out his/her working duties for the Institute.

As provided for by the Law, the Institute shall:

- assess reports, for which protection of the identity of the whistleblower shall be provided;

- assess reports from persons who are or have been carrying out work for the Institute as part of a standard employment relationship, or as part of voluntary activity, a specialist practice placement or an internship; that is to say, as provided for by the Law, the Institute shall not accept reports from other persons.

Methods of submitting reports

Reports can be submitted through the Internal Reporting System of the Institute in the following ways: in writing, orally (by telephone), and, if requested by the whistleblower, in person, using the contacts given below:

Reports by secure e-mail should be sent to the designated e-mail address accessible to the compliance officer.

Reports submitted on paper should be sent by post to the postal address of the Institute, marked for the attention of the compliance officer.

At the request of the whistleblower, reports can be accepted by the compliance officer at a personal meeting within a reasonable time limit communicated to the whistleblower, but within fourteen days at the latest.
