Jan Uhlík studied interdisciplinary geology and Russian language at the Faculty of Science of Charles University and the Faculty of Arts of Charles University (M.Sc. 1993), business administration with a focus on finance at Manchester Business School (University of Manchester), Manchester and University of Wales, Cardiff (MBA 2000), history of art at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and history of architecture and conservation at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University (Ph.D. 2023). In 1994-2004 he worked at Živnostenská banka, a.s., since 1998 as Director of the Financial Institutions Division. From 2004 to 2021 he participated in the activities of the Institute of Art History of the CAS, v.v.i. – in the research tasks of the Department of Art-Historical Topography and the Documentation Department and related operational and economic agendas. In the years 2021-2024 he worked in the Research and Development Division of the Ministry of Culture. He was appointed to his current position after his return to the Institute of Art History of the CAS, v.v.i. in 2024.
