Eds. Jan Chlíbec – Martina Hrdinová
The fourteenth volume of the edition series Epigraphica & Sepulcralia is the outcome of the interdisciplinary symposium Necropolises in Bohemia, Possibilities and Methods of Their Research and Presentation, held in Prague on 26–27 October 2022 within the Strategy AV 21 – Anatomy of European Society research programme. The topic is examined from different aspects that combine humanities and social sciences: from the perspective of history, art history, archaeology and geology, as well as from the viewpoint of a detailed analysis of archival sources. In their totality, these various approaches present a rich picture of the issues under scrutiny. Noble family necropolises and their artistic decoration are an important source of learning about the lives of aristocratic society in the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern Period, and this volume is intended as an impetus for the further, more detailed exploration of the subject.
