Larysa Naumova studied philosophy, philosophy of culture, her dissertation topic was "Spectacle as a Cultural Phenomenon. The Philosophical Aspect" (Ph.D. 2004) in the field of Philosophical Anthropology, Philosophy of Culture (Kharkiv National University of V.N. Karazin). She also studied film and television directing at the Institute of Screen Arts of the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University and worked as an independent director (collaborated with the studios Timecode, Viatel and others in Ukraine).

2011 - 2012 she worked at the Art Theory Department of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, 2004 – 2008 – at the Film and Television Arts Department of the Kyiv International University. Since 2003, she has been working at the Institute of Screen Arts of the Kyiv National I.K.Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University.

Since 2016, she has been collaborating with the popular magazine Kino-Theatre (Ukraine).

Field of research: film theory, avant-garde in cinema, Ukrainian cinema, Ukrainian avant-garde and cinema, constructivism, rhythm, time and space in cinema, "poetic" cinema, spectacle as a cultural phenomenon, Ukrainian film directing school, contemporary processes in screen spectacle.
