Eva Janáčová studied art history at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague (Ph.D. 2015) and religious studies at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno (Mgr. 2009). Between 2012 and 2015, she worked as a culture editor in the monthly Literární noviny and in 2016, she received postdoctoral fellowship at the IAH CAS. Janáčová focuses on Jewish visual culture,holocaust art and visual antisemitism in the 19th and 20th centuries. Between 2018 and 2021 she was the principal investigator for the grant project The Image of the Enemy: Visual Manifestations of Antisemitism in the Czech Lands from the Middle Ages to the Present (NAKI II). Since 2023, she is the principal investigator for the five-year grant project titled Preserving Memory. Post-war Reflection on the Holocaust in Monuments and Fine Art (NAKI III).

Furthermore she is a co-investigator for the Strategy AV 21 project Umělecké dílo jako prostředek komunikace, while also collaborating with the department of topography on the preparation of Umělecké památky Moravy a Slezska (research into Jewish heritage monuments).
