International congresses on current issues of Mozart research have a tradition at the Czech Academy of Sciences. They are held regularly at two-year intervals, under the auspices of the Presidents of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. Ing. Jiří Drahoš (2016), and Prof. RNDr. Eva Zažímalová (2018, 2020, 2022, 2024). This is an important forum, that brings together both leading Mozart scholars and those who in recent years have brought new insights in the form of source discoveries, insightful analyses, or a reasonable correction of older interpretations. With this project, the Czech Academy of Sciences is maintaining the lasting reputation of Prague as the place where Mozart research once began.
